Belated Valentine's Day

An idea for a (semi-)original story hit me several days and I still missed the starting point. I was supposed to post up the first part yesterday but it will go up today (while the 2nd part gets pushed back). The idea is for daily updates though I'm sure once you get the gist of the story, don't expect particularly long daily installments. Consider it an experiment or exercise in writing.

Since I've been out of it for so long, at least in the posting. -_-

I'll use the same reason (excuse) as the mangakas! Time off for research!! Which is actually true, kind of, though it is more like brainstorming and detail-correction and review and what on earth was I writing before kind of thing.

And of course, this is going to go up before the story does. Since I'm still writing the 2nd chapter right now. XD

I won't be 'publishing' the next chapter(s) of Project until I get three of the four "introductions" done. One reason is because there are some cross-continuity issues that I want to make sure don't occur or are fixed in one shot as opposed to many updates later. XD

The other reason is because of the "game design" mechanic of the story. If this was a game, sephzero and I imagined that you would have to play through each of these three character introductions, after which the fourth character introduction is opened. And from the last introduction you would get into the game where all four characters are playable.

Yes, we loved this concept in the Wild Arms games (the first three anyway, never played the 4th and 5th did not use this mechanic).

Though I thought that the third one would be hard, the one I decided to write second is turning into a bit of a staller. Most likely because this was the last and latest character we created, becoming necessary because the original "female" component of the party left the group dynamic unbalanced. Hopefully they will work better this way though most of the later RPG games use three-person parties...

Oh well. I really like 'female A' and if 'female B' is necessary to make interactions smoother, then I will figure out how to do this. Not that I don't like 'female B', I just haven't had her on the storyboards as long.

I have no excuses, other than the writing muse/torturer really hasn't been with me. It only hit me again last week or so, starting with realizing that there really was a Gaiden for Ohkami Mineko's Dragon Knights. And she's supposed to continuing Dragon Knights in some fashion after she finishes a (hopefully short) serialization of something else. Though since it is still running in Wings, as a monthly, and given her track record, I won't be seeing that for awhile... Ah well, it would only be fodder for "Fate Undone", a most likely shameless Dragon Knights "dream" story <-- self-insertion.

At the very least, to sephzero's joy(?), I'm getting off my lazy bum to start writing my section of our Kingdom Hearts fanfiction, PROJECT KH.

Though to be perfectly honest, I will be writing the vast majority of it.

Like Fate Undone and Fifth House (a Harry Potter universe), it is mostly plotted out. Project (our nickname for Project KH) has gone through a number of revisions, mostly in setting up the characters that Sora will be primarily be interacting with though I really like our final group.

Oh, and Riku insisted on being a problem. As in, what is he doing through all of this? XD One might think we have more love for Replica than Riku if you could eavesdrop on our brainstorming sessions.

Anyway, the silly thing is that sephzero is supposed to write Part 1 of Project which he HASN'T FINISHED YET (he doesn't read this anyway) and my section runs right off of that. He says what I've written hasn't conflicted (we're big on continuity) but I wonder...

New year (five days late) and I've moved to a new house and city and will be starting (returning?) to a day-time working schedule.

Maybe I will use my free time to actually get something written completely as opposed to plotting.

Actually, I did technically complete something, a romp of characters through the first adventure of in Witchfire Trilogy, a published adventure for the guns and magic fantasy Iron Kingdoms campaign setting produced by Privateer Press.

The adventuring group consists of an original character Akari, Sanada Ryou and Hashiba Touma from Yoroiden Samurai Troopers, the original Fai from Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles, and a boy named Nora who people can easily figure out who he REALLY is.

If I get a moment to proofread Act 1, I may post it up. It's an exercise in getting back into the groove.

A very Short Return...zzzzz

I have determined after only two days of returning to work that updates are probably next to impossible during my work weeks. I'm on a 7 day on, 7 day off, graveyard shift. So come Tuesday, I'll be able to focus on writing again.

Even though sephzero and I have gotten very sidetrack with a 'Anime Bandits in Battle City' romp. What is that? You will see.

Shameless people, really, those Bandits.

And I've received several requests for the fanfiction archive that was in my Yoroiden Temple. I know sephzero will drop me into the deepest sea trench he can find before agreeing to that. And it is so much work to convert... I'm still thinking.

Romeo X Juliet SAIKOU!!!

Gonzo's newest anime, an adapatation of Shakespheare's Romeo & Juliet, at least started off with an interesting premise. And I love Lena Park's rendition of "You Raise Me Up"!!! I've left the official webpage open (http://www.romejuli.jp/top.html) to keep the music streaming. For some reason, trying to play the videos keeps skipping.

That did completely distract sephzero and I with our own version, intermixed with about 7 other stories (at last count), convulated and unnecessarily complicated to fit our tastes. Heavens know if I'll get around to writing it. Maybe after 72 more hours of listening to this track.

I have my two YuGiOh Duel Monster boxes and no Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix Plus!!

Though it is nice to finally see on YouTube videos of the Knight. It requires some reworking of Project KH but that's all Chapter 3 and later. (Please read 'chapter' here as 'volume'.) Sephzero and I can never work on anything short.

Which also brings up an apology. I did mention I was looking to continue Slayers Legacy but... I can't. GOMEN! I was re-reading it and looking at what notes I had and I have NO IDEA where some of these plotlines were going.

So at best I'll start another series...

Oh, and I got the (Japanese) YuGiOh Duel Monsters Structure Deck "Power of Dragons". Too bad the store no longer keeps out boxes of duel cards else I would have bought one as well. The Structure Deck was 50% off too.

Yes, I have no control over my spending habits (relating to anime and manga), what else is new?

UPDATE I did finish that new story start for Slayers, Runaway Bride. Right now, it's only original characters but I think you'll get idea how the canon cast will be showing up.

I finally finished revising 7th Fantasy and I got a new chapter up for it. Though it took forever for me to figure out how to write the middle section. But now I can move on to Cosmos Canyon for most of the revelations to come to light, or did I have a bridge chapter with Tseng in there...

I'm still working on Zirconia, writing completely original stuff is time-consuming and takes longer for me to get the flow.

As one might guess, the next major arc for Duel Legend involves Pegasus but first I think I'll end up having a chapter more devoted to dueling. Oh, and Jounouchi finally shows up. I like him only a bit more than Anzu (she has good points but for some reason she keeps rubbing me the wrong way).

I haven't even looked at my Slayers stuff yet. I will be continuing Slayers World Bible and I'm still working out an Interlude story for a new original character who will play a part in Lina's later adventures, whether Lina likes it or not. Bwahahahaha.

Oh yeah, it's my birthday so my mom bought a small ice cream (bunny) cake. Mint flavored ice cream, my favorite. And one of my Amazon orders came in, so I have the Murder Princess OAV Volume 1 with DVD collection box, Murder Princess manga volume 2 (heavy influence on the Zirconia story), the single for Wild Arms Vth Vanguard theme 'Justice to Believe', and the Kingdom Hearts Complete Soundtrack. I love the CD pouch that came with it, Roxas and Sora sitting side by side eating seasalt popsicles!

My Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix+ still hasn't shown up yet.

If my other Amazon order (YuGiOh Duel Monsters DVD boxes 1 and 4, about 20 episodes each, end of battle city and the ancient egypt arcs to the end respectively) shows up before that game does, I'll... I'm not sure what, but my Japanese PS2 is going to be busy for awhile.

I know there are quite a few search-bots that keep hitting my site (I swear they must be the reason the bandwidth is still in the Gigs every month despite my lack of updates these past several years) but this is just ridiculous.

My website got tagged by Google for possible badware hosting/distribution?!?

DOKO DESU KA?!?! (WHERE IS THAT?!?!)

This and the hold-up with my pharmacist license... makes one just want to scream!!

But it is nighttime and sephzero is already asleep because he needs to wake up early for work so I'll keep mum.

Oh, he's so going to so laugh this up when I tell him tomorrow.

Anyway, I submitted to StopBadware.org to perform a review (bottom of the to-be-done queue) which according to them can help to petition Google to remove that tag when my site comes up on the Google search (assuming of course that they don't find anything either). @.@

If anyone finds anything, badware aside, there may still be some broken links somewhere with the site's renovation, please feel free to drop a line here, in the guestbook, by e-mail, and so on.

But I mean really what on earth is Google tagging??? I'm not using anything more advanced than I was using before in the last site version.

I can't wait for a month (or so) for the search engines to stop hitting all of those old areas that I've deleted on my site. I really can't make sense of anything on my error reports right now. Does anyone know, precisely, how long the archives of those things are kept?

My eyes are tired... in order to finish Battle 3 of Duel Legend I had to reread all of the previous chapters and then review and recompile my story notes... @_@

Well, I'll get to revising a couple chapters of 7th Fantasy after I review where Duel Legend is going next. There are some timing issues I know I had the last time I was going through it.

BTW, be wary of loading up Battle 3. It ended up at 27 pages, Arial, size 10, single spaced.

...hahahaha...

Oh yes, I saw the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie on... Wednesday was it? It's so nice... Lots of action... I really like the leader of the Foot, she's cool...

One must also watch Murder Princess (Japanese OAV, just Google it and the official website should show).

Okay, finally finished the version update and the clean-up of all of the files for the newest site version. @.@

And now to start writing again, since I have the revision of 7th Fantasy, the completion of Duel Legend Battle 3, Zirconia (an original story for Crossroads), another Slayers Legacy Interlude to introduce at least one new character...

But after I finish re-reading Slayers AD (started reading it again while I was scanning to make sure all of the updates were completed) and I'm eagerly waiting for Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix+ to show up on my doorstep... It's already been shipped...

I spent hours trying to find and customize a counter script so I can use these cute custom counter gifs I found but all of them require more access than I have and the one provided by my webhost doesn't have any nice ones (though a lot of them) and so again I have turned to a 3rd party provider.

But Ninja Tools has a lot of cute ones. Han-nya~~~ *^.^* totemo KA-WA-II yo!!!

I'm not sure if I want to put up a Webclap or a BBS/Guestbook. I still have to look at my host's in-built guestbook script. The only webclap serve I know of is the Japanese one but then, how many people over here know how that works....

Basically it allows you to leave comments to the webmaster, who can put little 'thank you' pictures or text or something, though if you don't include your name in the comment, it technically becomes anonymous.

I'm using a lot of Japanese 3rd party support tools...

No, really, the first 'hello' since I haven't even uploaded the new version of the site yet that would link to this.

Who knows if this will even be read, since all of my previous readers have most likely given me up for dead (figuratively speaking) since I haven't touched my site or my stories for... acha, over three years.

;P It's so much more enthralling(?) to read Japanese fanfics.

Anyway, I'm not sure how consistent with updates I can be again though I do have several (extremely long) stories that are relatively well-planned out.

Why can't I come up with anything shorter? ;_;

Well, here's to hoping I can finish the renovations soon.
